While many evangelists and preachers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are trying to discourage and purge the Christian community of "prosperity gospel," some Christian evangelist argue that Christians will be subscribing to a "pampered gospel."
This discussion has become increasingly vocal in the Christian community and so many are drawn to this argument because to them it brings back the old time gospel of "Holiness and Righteousness" which are not acceptable by the flesh and would make people run away from their Churches. On social media many are speaking out against this trend(Prosperity gospel), a lot of mixed reactions trail preachers, evangelists and teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A large number of these individuals don't see anything wrong with the sole focus on prosperity teachings, while a good number of preachers and teachers believe this has made the Church look-warm and not focused on the second coming of our Lord.
Some none office holders of the gospel term the gains of these pastors and preachers an act of injustice and unfairness to the people of God and an act of loss of identity of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What's my take on this?
If we all claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, then we need to check our hearts and read the Bible again with clearity void of our desires placed in front of us... We need to study the life of Jesus Christ and see if what we preach today tallies with what our Savior went around teaching and speaking to the people of.
The devil is gradually gaining so much grounds in the hearts of God's children, we have systematically put away the Godly principle of Success and have sown the seed of greed and covetousness in the hearts of the people, and we are stylishly making them lovers of themselves "2Timothy 3:2 for these are the "terrible days that Apostle Paul was telling Timothy of", the days we will teach of prosperity and exalt the flesh and coat it with the gospel of Jesus Christ but deep in our hearts we have other aims and ambitions.
Imagine in this days and times we hear preachers tell the people "once saved forever saved" just because you want your followers to see reason to dance to your tunes and make them comfortable to follow your teachings. They refuse to teach the people of "working out their salvation daily with fear and trembling" Philippians 2:12... For this is the heart position of those who truly seek God.
Well I want to say this; if Elijah the prophet spoke of Holiness and Righteousness and in all of his time on earth and in his ministry he never lacked, then I know as many of us who focus on preparing a Holy and Righteous minded congregation for His second coming will not lack nor beg for food... Then even if we do, it's best to do it for the sake of the gospel "1Peter 3:14-17.
"If we watch these men take God's children of the track and shut up then we do no good. "We have got to speak out and say it loud that these "are not the days of signs and wonders, but the days of the Saints being perfected in the word of God". It is very important we keep talking about this to our congregation so we get the church ready for His second coming.
I'm not posting this because I don't have something important to say. It is because we have the right to speak and we have the right to disagree with this evil norm.
Let's go back to the old gospel of Holiness, Purity and Righteousness for the Lords return is eminent.
